Job Overview:
Covenant Clearinghouse manages real estate assessments covering hundreds of thousands of planned and existing property developments across the United States. Located in downtown Austin, Covenant Clearinghouse is seeking an Associate General Counsel to assist in actively managing the company’s litigation docket, reviewing and drafting transactional documents, and advising the company on a full array of legal and regulatory issues. This position involves engaging in active litigation on behalf of the company and the management of that litigation in house, in addition to the supervision of matters with which outside counsel has been engaged to assist the company.
The company offers a competitive salary for this position. The salary range listed here is a guideline. Pay will be commensurate with expertise and experience. Responsibilities:
· Assist General Counsel with all civil litigation matters, including those managed in-house, as well as those supervised primarily by outside counsel.
· Conduct legal research and analysis to support ongoing cases.
· Draft legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, memoranda, and motions.
· Represent the company in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and appeals.
· Draft, negotiate, and manage third-party contracts.
· Assist with transactional and other projects, as needed.- Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues and provide recommendations
Minimum Qualifications:
· Excellent critical and analytical writing skills.
· Significant court experience, including trial, hearing, and appellate.
· At least 5 years of work experience at a top-tier law firm.
· At least 5 years of experience in real property law and litigation.
· Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
· Good standing with the State Bar of Texas and eligible to practice law in Texas.
