Associate General Counsel is responsible for ensuring an organization's compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Develops and reviews an organization's policies, practices, and guidelines. Being an Associate General Counsel assists in protecting an organization's legal interest and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law. Provides counsel to senior leadership. Additionally, Associate General Counsel identifies and analyzes legal issues, drafts key documents, presents clear recommendations to top management, and assures legal compliance. Assists or represents the organization in business negotiations. Requires a JD. Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to top legal executive. The Associate General Counsel manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be an Associate General Counsel typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: &

& &Negotiate complex retail leases and related documents.
& &Provide ongoing legal support to in house leasing and construction team primarily responsible for new store leasing and construction.
& &Provide ongoing legal support for a portfolio of stores, including legal support for lease administration, lease accounting, and facilities management.
& &Provide legal support for real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
& &Provide legal support for real estate related disputes and litigation.Requirements
At least 4 years experience as a practicing real estate attorney, including leasing experience (in-house or outside counsel)
