Associate General Counsel is responsible for ensuring an organization's compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Develops and reviews an organization's policies, practices, and guidelines. Being an Associate General Counsel assists in protecting an organization's legal interest and maintaining its operations within the scope established by law. Provides counsel to senior leadership. Additionally, Associate General Counsel identifies and analyzes legal issues, drafts key documents, presents clear recommendations to top management, and assures legal compliance. Assists or represents the organization in business negotiations. Requires a JD. Requires State Bar membership. Typically reports to top legal executive. Position Summary:
The Associate General Counsel and Director of Advocacy will be responsible for understanding the federal and state laws and regulations that impact BrightView’s business and developing strategies to affect meaningful change in support of our goal to bring the highest-quality substance use disorder treatment to as many patients as possible. This role will also include various legal responsibilities in support of internal departments including mergers and acquisitions, real estate leasing, contract administration, and human resources. This role works closely with the Chief Legal and Compliance Officer and other members of the executive team on legal matters and advocacy initiatives that support the values and mission of BrightView.

Required Education/Degree:
Juris Doctorate from Accredited Law School
Required Certification/License:
Attorney licensed to practice law and in good standing in one or more of the jurisdictions in which Brightview operates (OH, KY, VA, MA, NC, DE, CT).
Preferred Work Experience:
Five or more years of experience in government affairs, lobbying, and/or healthcare practice in a law firm. Experience with substance use disorder/behavioral health regulatory framework is a plus.
