Associate General Counsel jobs in York, PA

Summary/Objective
The Associate General Counsel will provide general legal support and expertise to all Rutter’s companies, with a focus on real estate development, corporate transactions and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Will perform legal research and compose memoranda or otherwise communicate with employees and department managers within the company.
• Provide representation for Rutter’s companies in legal matters before state and local agencies, including municipal approvals, and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
• Prepare and negotiate real estate conveyance documents, construction contracts, and commercial agreements.
• Develop a thorough understanding of Rutter’s companies, its core values, its people, products, technology, markets, customers and competitors in order to assist the Company in meeting its overall business goals and objectives in a legal, compliant, safe and responsible manner.
• Review and analyze local, state and federal regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Provides status of legal matters concerning Rutter’s companies to senior level management.
• Self-starter, able to work cross-functionally with a business partner mindset and across multiple operating entities.
• Perform legal services as directed.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Must be a licensed Attorney in PA.  (MD and/or WV a plus, but not required)
• Minimum 3 years of experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide recommendations for well-reasoned, practical solutions and alternatives.
• Ability to identify legal risks and develop plans to reduce the chance of occurrence and / or exposure.
• Strong work ethic and enthusiasm for taking on a wide range of projects and responsibilities.
• Proactive, detail oriented, and able to prioritize while handling multiple tasks.
