    Summary of Position

    The Associate Director/Director of Career Outcomes works directly with students, faculty, alumni, employers, and the Center for Career and Professional Development team to guide and develop a career outcomes program. This individual will partner with campus departments on the development of career communities initiatives in order to elevate student engagement for tangible outcomes, while preparing students for meaning lives and supporting alumni experiencing career transitions. Through collaboration with alumni, students, parents, employers, staff, and administration, the position will build engagement opportunities and program initiatives ensuring the success of Allegheny College students

    What you will do in this role:

    • Career Coaching: Develop a career communities coaching model that involves the formation of industry and affinity groups between stakeholders including students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Guide the department in connecting coaching efforts with the formation and sustainability of career communities. Prioritize national career readiness standards in departmental practices. Partner with faculty and others to integrate career readiness with course design and advising.
    • Program/Project Management: Lead efforts to install a continuous career communities program consisting of multiple industry and affinity groups. Implement a common structure to manage connections, expectations, learning, and outcomes. Leverage technology and develop resources and training solutions to facilitate meaningful experiences, collaborating with divisional alumni relations personnel. Conduct regular assessments to inform continuous improvement efforts.
    • Operations: Manage the front office in ways that prioritize a sense of belonging for students, customer service, accessible resources, and seamless experiences for students and visitors. Manage workflows of appointments, resume and employer approvals, and a variety of requests. Standardize management practices related to event planning, resource allocation, and staff coverage in consultation with the executive director.
    • Special Initiatives: Lead efforts to maintain and expand experiences that connect students with career community professionals and opportunities to grow in knowledge and skill development. Produce Blue & Gold Weekend and exploratory programs that focus on career readiness and highlight ways Allegheny College prepares students for meaningful lives and careers.
    • Technology and Assessment: Maximize use of career services systems such as Handshake and PeopleGrove to improve efficiencies and overall effectiveness of career communities and departmental efforts. Work closely with the executive director and department staff to regularly collect and analyze outcomes and relevant data to promote continuous improvement.

    • Associate Director: 3-5 years career services or professional experience working with undergraduate students
    • Director: 5 years career services or professional experience working with undergraduate students
    • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
    • Track record of achieving exceptional results in the Career Services field

    • Exceptional ability to influence and build strong relationships
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in facilitation/presentation

    YOUR COMPENSATION

    New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the range minimum and the salary range midpoint depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. The starting range for this position is $55,000 annually and years of relative experience will adjust the position rate accordingly.
