Job Summary
Wyoming Housing Network is looking to add a bilingual housing counselor who can read, write, and speak Spanish fluently. The primary functions of the job are in English. The primary role and responsibilities of a housing counselor are listed below, we are specifically looking for someone who can help us meet the needs of our Spanish speaking clients better.
General Purpose:
The Housing Counselors provide one-on-one counseling/consultation services with individuals and families concerning topics related to homeownership. The Housing Counselor may be asked to conduct classroom trainings. Housing Counselors are responsible to provide effective education and counseling programs that result in high client satisfaction, responsive communication with community partners, and efficient client file management. The Housing Counselor reports to the Director of Housing Counseling.
Essential Functions:

· Conducts individual counseling sessions (including scheduling, preparation, and documentation)
· Maintains client records through client management system software and paper files
· Communicates in a timely manner with clients, lenders, and other stakeholders about the Homebuyer Education process and WHN’s programs and services
· Assists with file management tasks, such as auditing files, processing closing disclosures, and client follow up
· Assists with monthly and quarterly reporting for the board of directors, funders, and other community stakeholders
· Provides support, as needed, to other core WHN programs
· Assists with efforts to market and educate the Wyoming community about the Wyoming Housing Network and housing counseling services
· Practices open and honest communication and be a constructive and positive team member
· Continues to grow in knowledge of the housing counseling field and willingness to achieve additional certifications

Experience:
· Candidates with experience in financial coaching, credit counseling, lending, education and/or counseling, property management and/or customer service preferred.
Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications:
· Preference given to candidate possessing the following certifications, for the right candidate considerations can be made to obtain certifications in the first 3- 6 mos. of hire.
· Must have reliable transportation
· Must have a valid driver’s license
· Passing a criminal history background check will be required prior to the start of employment
