Associate Producer - Web implements assigned areas of a web or e-commerce projects. Coordinates schedules with internal and external content and development teams. Being a Associate Producer - Web oversees the financial expenditures on certain aspects of the project when working with vendors during design. Consults with business users and content providers regarding technical design issues, requests for modifications, and problem resolution. Additionally, Associate Producer - Web may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Associate Producer - Web supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Associate Producer - Web typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The City of Sioux City Human Resources Department is looking for a Student Intern to redesign and update the Human Resources web pages on the City of Sioux City’s website (https://www.sioux-city.org/government/departments-g-p/human-resources).
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, creative, and effectively coordinate information from multiple departments and sources to create content that will engage and inform citizens, employees and retirees in the various Human Resources processes. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated web design/development experience.
This internship is for 10 - 12 weeks, up to 30 hours a week, Monday through Friday, and the work schedule is flexible.
Applicants Must Provide:- Cover letter detailing your experience and how it fits this position.
- Sample of work you’ve done on web sites, showcasing your work.
If this internship is for credit, we will need a letter from your instructor detailing the requirements of the class.Cognitive Demands, Skills and Abilities: Ability to follow instructions and accept constructive criticism; Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you, ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer), ability to see details at a distance, ability to identify and understand the speech of another person, ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Job Knowledge: Must have general knowledge, job skills and abilities associated with their particular work assignment; Good knowledge of the handling the public; ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines; ability to quickly learn and put to use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology.
Language Ability and Interpersonal Communication: Ability to express oneself clearly both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees and the general public; Requires effective communication skills and the ability to provide assistance to customers (external and internal). Requires the ability to write and speak clearly, distinctly and effectively with fellow employees and the general public; read in English and compare similarities and differences between words and series of numbers; apply common sense understanding to the work process, procedures, programs and services; and to provide and follow verbal and written instructions.
Physical Requirements: Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 30 pounds. Good physical condition.
Work Environment: Work may be performed inside a typical inside office environment with appropriate heating and cooling or in outdoor field conditions, which include varying weather conditions, occupational or environmental hazards typically associated with general public contact, and varying street level noises; and touring work sites that are in various stages of development.Must have a work experience/educational agreement between the City and the educational institution in which they are enrolled and may be required to have a valid driver's license.
