Description: 

Galvanize is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager for its recently launched mission-based investment fund and platform.  Accounting managers are expected to bring relevant experience such that they can demonstrate financial and accounting judgment; and manage all financial reporting within the firm. This is a great opportunity to take on a lot of responsibility in a startup environment on a small team.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Support the CFO across financial and operations functions
• Prepare technical accounting research and maintain required documentation
• Review/prepare monthly and quarterly internal board and executive management reporting packages
• Assist with preparation and review of company budgets
• Be responsible for fund administrator activities
  • Monthly and quarterly review of GL and reporting packages
  • Quarterly/annual review of financial and capital account statement preparation for Limited Partners
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers to innovate process and timeline for annual audit and tax estimates and K-1s

Additional Responsibilities (based on candidate's experience and interests, and the firm's needs):

• Assist with creating and implementing internal processes and controls related to financial reporting and operations
• Review/prepare quarterly company financial documents to be shared with strategic investors
• Coordinate with investor relations and legal team to resolve all accounting and process issues and supervise all administrative functions to perform net asset calculation
• Work with external tax consultants to address complex tax items at the company, GP, and fund levels
• Liaise with internal investment professionals related to investment pipeline, valuation and portfolio management
• Manage outside consultants providing administrative and valuation services
• Collect all information from regional teams and provide support to regional teams and prepare quarterly financial templates. Evaluate all fund procedures annually. Coordinate with international outsourced accounting firm to consolidate UK books and records into US parent

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field required
• CPA strongly preferred
• Fund and/or management company accounting experience at a private equity or venture capital firm for 2 years
• Experience within the Treasury function of an organization is preferred, specifically:
  • Managing bank and custody accounts, credit facilities and overall relationships
  • Implementing cash management strategies at the fund and management company levels, including hedging foreign currency
  • Working with investment teams to ensure smooth and efficient deal closings
• Up-to-date with regard to COVID vaccines
• Can work in the office the majority of the time. There will be some flexibility around working from home, but candidates should assume this is not a remote position.
