POSITION Summary : The Assistant Director of Admissions assists the Director of Admissions with the administrative oversight and direction of the hospital’s Admissions Department.
This position provides supervision to a staff of specialists in the provision of patient access to care and behavioral health assessment services,including call management, clinical evaluations for level of care, crisis intervention, admissions, and referrals.
This position interfaces closely with the hospital’s medical staff, nursing staff, department leaders, and administration, as well as external referring agencies and payers.
The Assistant Admissions Director is responsible assisting with departmental adherence to policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and data entry / management.
In addition, the Assistant Admissions Director assists in the development and management of processes related to efficient and smooth admission processes.
The Assistant Admissions Director reports directly to the Director of Admissions assists in interviewing / hiring new staff, staff supervision, clinical case consultation, coordination and organization of day-to-day activities that will enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Admissions Department to improve the satisfaction of referral sources, staff, community partners, patients, and their families.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS :
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES : Knowledge of psychiatric behavioral health diagnostic criteria (DSM IV),quality assessment skills, including listening and writing legibly, ability to provide customer service in a caring way, even in a high stress environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATION : Master’s Degree in social work, psychology or related field.
Experience : A minimum of 1-3 years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable. Working knowledge of the Addiction &
Recovery field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review
professional / clinical team and responsible for staffing, budget, and process improvements.
Licensure : , , , or applicable license per state regulations preferred. Additional Requirements : Complete knowledge of crisis
intervention techniques. Trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Handle With Care and CPR. Knowledge and ability to effectively use
computers, analysis programs, and internet for measurement and reporting of key indicators and trends.
