The instructor will teach up to 2 introductory high school biology courses – Honors Genetic & Biotechnology and/or Honors Anatomy and Physiology and/or Honors Global Public Health &

    Infectious Disease.

The NCSSM Connect program offers live, synchronous virtual courses taught by NCSSM faculty to students in their local high schools across North Carolina. Students are able to interact with others from the mountains to the coast. Our NCSSM Connect program allows smaller, rural schools to offer AP and honors-level courses that may otherwise be unavailable.

Using a combination of a pre-developed curriculum, digital assets, and materials developed by the instructor, the instructor will deliver the course live/synchronously to one or more sites in North Carolina. Daily broadcasts will be seventy minutes – Honors Genetics & Biotechnology course (Monday-Friday from 8:15 AM – 9:25 AM) and/or Honors Anatomy and Physiology course (Monday-Friday from 12:05 PM – 1:15 PM) and/or Honors Global Public Health & Infectious Disease course (Monday-Friday from 1:45 PM – 2:55 PM). incorporating the concepts and techniques of data science. Preparation for teaching a

diverse student population as demonstrated by training or experience. Experience in the

use of educational technology to deliver interactive synchronous remote courses.

    Specific Duties:

Specific duties include teaching and facilitating instruction for the Honors Genetics & Biotechnology course (Monday-Friday from 8:15 AM – 9:25 AM) and/or Honors Anatomy and Physiology course (Monday-Friday from 12:05 PM – 1:15 PM) and/or Honors Global Public Health & Infectious Disease course (Monday-Friday from 1:45 PM – 2:55 PM) in the NCSSM Connect program during the spring semester.
