ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (CIVIL)

    • You will write the general and technical portions of specifications of contracts prepared at the Public Works Department.
    • You will assure that all specifications, drawings, estimates, and necessary documents are in order for transmittal to the Contract Officer.
    • You will coordinate contractual matters and procedures during the bidding and award periods with the Contracting Officer.
    • You will plan, develop, and prepare contract specifications for maintenance and construction contracts for the maintenance, repair, or alteration of facilities.
    • You will prepare work orders for maintenance and construction indefinite quantity contracts.

    Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector; 1) Planning and estimating labor and materials for construction or maintenance and repair work; 2) Preparing technical documents such as drawings, sketches, operating procedures, specifications, and/or material take-offs; 3) Conducting condition inspections of various types of facilities, structures, or utilities; 4) Coordinating work to ensure projects comply with applicable requirements.
