    General Responsibilities
    The Division of Health, Science, and Technology at Howard Community College (HCC) is seeking applicants for a temporary full-time faculty position (10 month) in the discipline of chemistry. The faculty member will be expected to teach courses in introductory and inorganic chemistry lecture and lab. The candidate must be team-oriented and be able to coordinate with other division faculty. Applicants must be willing to teach day and/or evening courses.

    Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
    Work Performed
    • The faculty member will fulfill a variety of college responsibilities including course and program assessment, participation in college wide activities, and service on college committees.
    • Faculty must possess excellent verbal, written, and online communication skills.
    • Experience working with diverse populations in a learning environment and experience with the use of technology in teaching science is strongly preferred.
    • The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence that includes an ability to incorporate innovative strategies and to integrate technology appropriately into their teaching.

    Requirements:
    • Minimum of a Master's degree in Chemistry or related field
    • A minimum of two years of high school or college teaching experience in Chemistry
    • Experience operating chemistry laboratory equipment
    • Demonstrated record of teaching excellence

    Preferred requirements:
    • Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field
    • Experience teaching chemistry at a community college
    • Experience in curriculum development
