Asst. Professor - Chemistry jobs in Pensacola, FL

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare chemicals for Chemistry I & II and Organic Chemistry I & II laboratories.
• Set-up, clean, and maintain all chemicals, instruments, and equipment for all Chemistry laboratories.
• Coordinate disposal of chemical wastes.
• Coordinate inventory of all chemicals in stock room and storage rooms.
• Maintain Safety and Data Sheet (SDS) files for all chemicals in stock.
• Manage ordering of laboratory equipment and supplies as needed.
• As a part of the college's risk management tool, annual mandatory compliance training is required.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties assigned.
• Position requires daily travel between the Niceville and Fort Walton Beach campuses.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of B.S. in Chemistry or related field.
• Experience with preparation of chemicals.
• Ability to manage multiple duties.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Employment contingent on passing background investigation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with OSHA standards for laboratory and EPA standards for waste disposal.
