Job Description

Development Services Group, Inc. is seeking a civil engineer to join our team in Portsmouth, VA. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic, creative problem-solver, and attention to detail.

Duties Include:

• Drafting, revising construction documents for accuracy and completeness and addressing jurisdiction review comments.
• Create drawings for various construction projects in VA, NC, SC, GA, and FL that consists of commercial, residential, and mixed use developments.
• Microsoft Office Suite.
• AutoCad Civil 3D a must.
• AutoTurn (preferred)
• Site visits and construction administration
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications: Required: A minimum of two years of experience drafting and designing construction documents is required; Must be authorized to work in VA without sponsorship; Must be willing to travel to other states on occasion; Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; Must possess the ability to manage time effectively under deadlines; Must possess the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities while still maintaining accuracy and quality standards; Must be able to lift 50 lbs.; Able to work independently or as part of a team as applicable depending on project needs; Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (summer heat & cold).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 40 per week
