The City of Steubenville Civil Service Commission will hold a written, competitive examination for the position of Police Officer on Saturday, May 11, 2024, 9:00 a.m. at Eastern Gateway Community College, Lecture Hall #2100, 4000 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, Ohio.
NOTE: Physical Agility testing will follow for those who pass the written exam, at 12:00 Noon - Harding Stadium Practice Field.

To qualify for the position of Police Officer and be eligible to take the examination, APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be 21 years of age at time of appointment, 20 Years old to sit for test.
· 35 years of age is maximum age for appointment. If over 35, MUST have OPOTA certificate and be up-to-date with training requirements.
· Must be United States Citizen.
· Must have valid driver's license and be insurable at time of appointment.
· Must be a High School Graduate or hold a G.E.D. equivalent certificate.
Must have ONE (1) of the following and provide documentation with application:
· Honorable discharge from U.S. Military (or)
· 30 Semester or 45 Quarter College Credit Hours (or)
· OPOTA Certificate (or)
· Currently enrolled in an OPOTA Academy will be considered upon completion.
Applicants must pass both the written examination and OPOTA minimum physical standards test to advance.
