Professor - Communication provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Communication may administer and grade examinations or delegate the task to others. Typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field.     Pay:

    This is a full time hourly/non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $18.65 - $37.30 per hour. Pay may vary depending on your location, skills, and experience.

    Location/Travel Requirements: Current project in Witten, SD. Will be 100% travel upon completion of project.

    Job Summary

    Work will consist of installations of underground utilities and associated materials and equipment to install underground facilities. Perform duties necessary to complete assigned task under the direct supervision of foreman, or superintendent. Employee should keep all materials, tools and equipment in an orderly fashion and always maintain a clean work area. Demonstrating safe work habits and proper care for tools and equipment. This is a traveling position functioning primarily in the mid-west.

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities

    • Clearly understand and comply with Cable Communication Services and federal job safety requirements. (osha)
    • Must be able to report to assigned job site location on time as directed.
    • Maintain and properly store tools and equipment.
    • Proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials.
    • Accurately organize materials and tools to maintain clean and neat work area.
    • Assist in various job duties as directed.
    • Properly install assigned work for underground utilities.
    • Ability to install vaults, splice enclosures and utility bases.
    • Ability to install all sizes of conduit that will ensure timely installations.
    • Ability to learn equipment operations (Excavator, flatbed truck, trailer, forklift, directional drill, locater, and skid steers)
    • Ability to use hand tools. (i.e., pliers, hammer, crescent wrench, side cutters, channel locks, screwdriver).
    • Must be able to safely use all power tools, saws, and drills.
    • Route or reroute new lines over, under, or around existing lines.
    • Inspect and/or access utility lines that are damaged.
    • Other miscellaneous duties, as assigned, to assist with the completion of a task.

    Working Conditions:

    • Job may require working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, or snow.
    • Job may require operation of equipment in all elements without climate control.
    • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities. (Porta-johns).
    • Job requires employee to have always required hand tools with them while at work site.
    • Must always wear personnel protective equipment. (i.e., Hard hats, safety glasses, safety harnesses as required).
    • Repetitive use of arms, legs, hands, and fingers.
    • Ability to work 9 hours per day, 45 hours per week and additional, as required, with little or no advanced notice.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
    • Ability to lift, by oneself, work- loads of up to 50 lbs.
    • Climb out of holes dug for installation of underground facilities
    • Possess good vision / hearing. (Normal or corrected).
    • Ability to work while constantly moving on one's feet.

    Qualifications & Skills

    Required:

    • High School diploma or GED

    • Active Valid CDL A Driver's License

    Preferred:

    • Heavy equipment operator experience

    Schedule:

    • 10 hour shift
    • 12 hour shift
    • Monday to Friday
    • Overtime
