Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Communication may administer and grade examinations or delegate the task to others. Typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Assistant/Associate Professor of MSCIS

  • The primary objective of this position is to teach graduate-level college courses in the fields of Computers, Cybersecurity, and Information Sciences on campus in Henniker, New Hampshire. Coding in Java is a must. Teaching responsibilities include preparing and delivering lectures, leading classroom discussions, conducting labs, and grading examinations.

    Graduate on campus classes run ½ day, once per week, for 7-week terms in Henniker and online in 7-week and 15-week formats with weekend in-person residency teaching opportunities. Undergraduate on campus classes run in 7-week and 14-week terms usually 2-3 days per week during the fall and spring semesters.

    Candidates must have evidence of teaching ability, demonstrated knowledge and use of effective and innovative pedagogy, the ability to work with diverse student populations and faculty, and a commitment to active learning and experiential education.

    Essential Duties Summary
    Graduate course teaching options include: Object-Oriented Programming; Python Programming; Web Programming with PHP/MySQL; Database Design; Database Management; Information Visualization; Network Communications; Security; Project Management; Cloud Computing; Data Mining; Health Informatics. Undergraduate course teaching options encompass: Programming Logic; Website Design; Cybersecurity Foundations; Database Administration; Systems Analysis & Design.

    Additional position responsibilities include committee work, academic advising, program and course development, program updates, and assessment. Faculty are expected to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on student recruitment, retention initiatives, graduation efforts, and developing employer-partner relationships.

    Required Qualifications
    • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field preferred;
    • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and to work closely with faculty and staff in a small college environment;
    • Demonstrated evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels;
    • Adept at teaching courses in different modalities: in-person, hybrid, remote, asynchronous.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Professional industry certifications a plus;
    • Related industry experience;
    • Established industry network;
    • Evidence of successful related grant procurement;
    • Demonstrated ability to work in a team to achieve project goals.
