Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Communication may administer and grade examinations or delegate the task to others. Typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field.   • The Department of Business Communication in the Marshall School of Business invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Business Communication (non-tenure-track, rank dependent on experience and qualifications) beginning in the academic year 2024-2025.

    The Department of Business Communication is the largest unit of its kind in the U.S. at a top-tier university. Our faculty come from a range of professional and academic backgrounds and take pride in their commitment to delivering an education that reflects trends in current business communication studies.

    Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in communication strategy, organizational and leadership communication, and advanced writing for business.

    We seek applicants who are passionate about teaching the next generation of business leaders and who have expertise or are focusing their research on new media/organizational communication, business ethics, workplace diversity, or international/cross-cultural communication. A wide range of service opportunities will complement your engagement with our vibrant community.

    While some non-tenure-track positions in the department do not include a research component and will be considered for this position, we are especially interested in candidates who are interested in and can demonstrate potential to add to the research portfolio of the department and school. Areas of interest in any managerial, professional, or business communication field of study are welcome. Candidates whose research advances our understanding of business communication related to technology (including AI), social/digital media, interpersonal communication, leadership communication, organizational communication, or intercultural communication are especially encouraged.

Experience with online instruction and classroom technology is expected.     Salary is dependent on qualifications, and employee benefits for full-time faculty are excellent.  The annual base salary range for this position is $84,608 - $133,236.
