Job Summary/Objective:
Sweet Briar College invites applications for full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Political Science beginning Fall 2024. We are seeking candidates with expertise in a wide range of fields including comparative politics, international relations, state and local politics, political theory, and American politics; we are particularly interested in candidates whose research and teaching interests are interdisciplinary both within political science and across the social sciences. Our teaching load is 3 course equivalents per semester. The College’s academic calendar, with immersive three-week terms bookending traditional 12-week terms, creates an opportunity for innovative courses to take advantage of close student faculty interactions and collaboration across disciplines. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make contributions to our women’s leadership and core curriculum.
