Asst. Professor - Computer Science teaches courses in the discipline area of computer and information sciences. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Computer Science provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Computer Science typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field.     The Alabama School of Mathematics and Science (ASMS), a public residential high school serving talented students from across the state, seeks a full-time instructor to teach a range of classes in math and related subjects. We seek the best fit for our students and organization and see this as an opportunity. The position will teach highly motivated high school students in an advanced college prep program. The successful candidate will develop and implement an instruction program consistent with state guidelines but attentive to the needs of academically talented students. Courses at ASMS are taught at the college freshman or sophomore level or higher. The teaching load for this position will include math courses ranging from algebra to calculus. Preference will be given to candidates who can also teach courses that integrate engineering design processes. Requirements: Master’s degree in math, engineering, or closely related field. Preferred: Ph.D. and teaching experience.
