    Summary of Job Duties:The chair will supervise and evaluate the Mathematics and Computer Science faculty; manage departmental budget; teach classes in Mathematics and/or Computer Science; provide leadership in the instructional program and in curricula innovation directed toward an expansion of course and degree offerings; provide leadership for internal and external program reviews; maintain an aggressive recruitment and retention program; develop a successful plan for external fundraising; and other responsibilities as determined in consultation with the Dean of Arts and Sciences.Qualifications:

    Applicant must hold an earned PhD or doctorate degree in a discipline of Mathematics, Computer Science, or closely related field. In addition, the candidate must have qualifications that merits appointment as a tenured associate or full professor in the department, demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, and evidence of strong interpersonal and administrative skills. The successful candidate has a proven record of successful teaching and curriculum development; creativity and academic integrity; evidence of significant scholarly and creative endeavors; experience with accreditation; a strong commitment to and concern for student academic achievement and retention; excellent interpersonal, oral and written skills; and an ability to lead the faculty and the department with vision.
