Asst. Professor - Drama teaches courses in the discipline area of drama and theater arts. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Drama provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Drama typically reports to a department head. As a member of our great team you will:
· Work 6-20 hours per week, primarily in the afternoons and early evenings. Teachers may choose to have additional hours like mornings for preschools, or evenings and Saturdays for community classes. We compensate you for travel and curriculum prep time at $30/hour, and also pay for your 20 hours of training at $20/hour.
Here are some of the work you will be expected to do:
· Teach and mentor students from 4 to 18 years of age. Primarily ages 6-10.
· Follow provided world-renowned lesson plans on speech, movement & acting. You will not be expected to provide your own curriculum.
· Direct short plays (priority for musical theater directors)
· Build relationships with parents and students
· Deliver presentations and MC performances
· Foster relationships with local schools
· Attend training, Zoom check-ins, and monthly staff meetings
· Opportunity to do additional administrative and marketing work/projects at $20/hour.
· Have HIGH ENERGY. Able to sit on the floor and jump around with the kids. Physical requirements may include moving chairs, sets, props, backdrops and carrying items to and from the car.
