ENGLISH GARDENS LANDSCAPE FIELD SUPERVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Job: Full time
MUST HAVE 4-5 YEARS OF LANDSCAPE LEADERSHIP AND HORTICULTURAL KNOWLEDGE TOP ESSENTIAL SKILLS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
Objective: To ensure and provide over-site of English Gardens Landscaping Inc.’s quality of installation. This position exists to ensure that all projects are complete within budgeted hours, by job specifications and in accordance with our English Gardens proper quality standards. Primary focus on day to day field management of landscape projects; as well as providing technical and operational advice to the Crew Leaders as it relates to the field projects.
Reports to: Operations Manager, Production Superintendent
Direct Reports: Crew Leaders, Crew Members.
Areas of Responsibility/General Duties: On-Site Productivity, Best Methods for Equipment Use, Overseeing Production Quality, Scheduling, and Translating.II. Policies and Procedures
- Overall safety, on the job site. (Includes proper truck, trailer, and equipment operation and training.)
- Produce functional installations with high artistic and horticulture standards.
- Assist with quality and production goals and special projects as needed.
- Reach or exceed projected installation goals within projected hours.
- Communicate and reinforce company policies and procedures.
- Communicate professionally with clients, co-workers, and subcontractors.
- Communicate a professional appearance at all times. (Both personal and equipment.)
- Keep phone active as needed for customer and employee needs.
- Support hands on training in English and Spanish to reinforcement of proper English Gardens’ installation methods to Crew Leaders and staff.
- Work towards the development and advancement of all field personnel.
- Attend approved education programs at least three time a year as available.
Follow the progressive discipline process outlined in our Associate Policies manual.
III. Scheduling of projects:
- Help determine the number of crews and staff per crew.
- Help determine the equipment needs.
- Follow –up on warranty issues; Make sure the warranty is completed correctly, quickly and with a minimum of customer discomfort.
- Job site coordination with landscape staff.
- Accurate and timely “daily project reports” to the Bookkeeper
- Help make changes with the crew staff as necessary to accommodate schedule.
IV. Hiring and Performance Reviews
- Assist on recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of new Associates
- Conduct interviews as necessary to fill any open positions of as additional staff is needed for growth
- Assist the Operations Manager and Production Superintendent with yearly performance reviews of Crew Leaders, Assistant Crew Leaders, and Crew Members.
- Discuss areas of success and areas that need improvement.
- Provide new goals, approved by Operations Manager and Director of Landscape.
- Revise staffing plans as necessary through the year to adjust to fluctuating sales targets and labor budget.
- Discuss seasonal lay-offs of staff as necessary with Production Superintendents.
V. Financial Management
- Complete all the expense purchase orders right away.
- All the expense purchase orders are to be signed by the Operations Manager or Director of Landscape.
- Call suppliers to verify the cost of products when ordered.
- Search for alternative suppliers as necessary to control cost and add new items to the product line.
VI. Incident Reports
- Complete an incident report for all vehicle and equipment accidents.
- Report must be filled out accurately and as soon as the accident occurs.
- Fax the information to the ACO Office Manager, Michelle Hamilton. Send the original paperwork through intercompany mail.
- Discuss with the Associate what happened and how the incident could be avoided in the future.
- Any accidents are to be brought up in the Crew Leader Safety and Training Meeting to discuss what happened and how it can be avoided in the future.
VIII. Fleet maintenance
- Lock Out tag trucks and equipment as necessary to ensure safety.
- Set up the repair of all the equipment with the Mechanic.
- Help get an estimate and discuss with Operations Manager.

Salary: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour

- Excellent supervisory experience and management in the Landscape profession.
- MUST be authorized to work in the United States and have a valid Driver's License
- At least 21 years of age, can work Saturdays and in inclement weather (required)
- Have a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record
- Articulate in both written and verbal communication skills
- Able to manage time and workload effectively autonomously.
- All job-specific equipment and safety gear provided
- Provide expertise and leadership skills to the team
- Must have a clean criminal background check
