    Summary of Job Duties:Teach a wide range of undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering. Mechanical Engineering faculty report to the Department Head for Computer Science and Engineering.Qualifications:

    Required Education and/or Work Experience:Master's degree in mechanical engineering

    Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: PhD in Mechanical Engineering with two years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Some experience in student recruitment and advising.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:

    • Commitment to excellence in teaching, including the utilization of technology
    • Commitment to faculty research and facilitating undergraduate research opportunities for students in mechanical engineering
    • Well-developed communication and teamwork skills
    • Strong organization and prioritization skills
    • Ability to effectively work with a diverse body of students, staff, and faculty
    • Experience with Matlab and SolidWorks.

    Summary of Job Duties:

    • Teaches mechanical engineering classes for undergraduate students in engineering.
    • Participates in curriculum planning, writing, and implementation.
    • Participates in student advising, recruitment, and retention
    • Participates in departmental and university assessment programs
    • Conducts research with the goal of dissemination of research activity through publications, presentations, and grants.
    • Participates and serves on university, college, and department committees and initiatives.
    • Maintains strong working relationship with faculty and staff.
    • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates.
    • Requires consistent on-time attendance.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee frequently sits for extended periods of time, and occasionally stands and walks. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee regularly talks and hears. Employee occasionally lifts items up to 50 pounds. Routine work schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional overtime and travel required

    Salary Information:

    $60,000-65,000/Year, commensurate with education and experience
