Position Summary |
The UNM Department of Anthropology invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Anthropological Archaeology beginning in August 2024. Geographic specialization is open. Strong candidates should have demonstrated experience in undergraduate teaching. The successful candidate will teach a section of the four-field Introduction to Anthropology class each semester, and introductory archaeology courses: “World Archaeology” (Fall semester) and “Archaeology in Practice” (Spring Semester). The remaining courses will be determined by the candidate’s area of specialization and departmental needs; the ability to teach at least one hands-on methods courses is especially desired. Note: our more specialized upper-level methods and topics courses typically serve both undergraduate students and graduate students in our Master’s in Public Archaeology and PhD programs.
