    Langan is seeking a Solutions Architect to join our national Digital Solutions practice. This individual will serve a key function in providing design, development of, and implementation of systems to support existing and future software applications and customized client web sites. Projects are primarily based on Esri’s ArcGIS Enterprise technologies, and therefore, knowledge of these technologies along with JavaScript, mobile, and design skills are highly desirable. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced development team that creates modern web, mobile, and desktop applications for both internal and external users. The team uses an Agile approach to software development and uses the latest technologies such as JavaScript/ES6 , React, and ArcGIS JavaScript 4.x. Many projects are full-stack and require working with the data, enterprise database, server, and front-end/UI.


    Job Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and test GIS web applications using React and the ArcGIS JavaScript API;
    • Design and create intuitive user interfaces for tools, web and mobile apps, and dashboards;
    • Build slick data visualizations including map data, dashboards, and reports;
    • Work with public cloud resources such as Azure and AWS;
    • Support Langan’s mobile initiatives through responsive design and Esri’s Field apps;
    • Solve problems by creating and proposing technical solutions;
    • Stay current on the latest technologies and industry best practices;
    • Promote the GIS team throughout Langan by giving demos, presentations and training to technical and non-technical users; and
    • Perform other duties as requested.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related discipline is required (Master’s degree a plus);
    • 7 years of experience in the development of web applications utilizing JavaScript and modern frameworks such as React;
    • Solid foundational knowledge of web technologies/concepts; HTML5, CSS, REST, ES6 , etc.;
    • Understanding of modern development tools such as version control, NodeJS/NPM, debugging, virtual environments, build systems, unit testing frameworks;
    • Experience developing responsive and mobile-ready web applications using React;
    • Experience with developing and implementing GIS applications, especially web-based with the ArcGIS JavaScript API;
    • Self-motivated learner who continually keeps up to date with new technology;
    • Experience with Esri products, 10.x or higher including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and Configurable Apps; UXD is a plus;
    • Other languages such as Python, C#, and QT are a plus;
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
    • Proactive and comprehensive troubleshooting and problem solving skills;
    • High caliber of self-motivation with the ability to work well within groups;
    • Ability to work efficiently and produces accurate and thorough work; and
    • Ability to work independently, remain flexible, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

    Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $133,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.

    This position is also eligible to participate in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Actual paid vacation time may vary based on factors such as related work experience and level.
