Colby-Sawyer College’s School of Business and Social Sciences is seeking applications for a visiting professor of history position. The professor’s primary role would be to teach courses in the History and Political Studies program. In addition to courses in their area of specialization, the successful applicant would teach American history survey courses, a methods course, and make meaningful contributions to the school’s education minor. Preference will be given to candidates who can support the development and implementation of a teacher certification program.
Evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level and a philosophy of education consonant with Colby-Sawyer’s programs and mission are required. All full-time faculty are expected to contribute to the college’s liberal education program.
This is a full-time, one-year visiting faculty position, with the possibility of renewal up to three years. A PhD or EdD is preferred. All but dissertation (ABD) will be considered.
This 9-month position includes teaching 24 credits per year, student advising, college service responsibilities, ongoing scholarship, and is available beginning August 2024.
