    Summary of Job Duties:Teach four history courses each semester using in-person and virtual formats, serve on departmental committees, advise students, attend departmental and university meetings, new course prep (as needed), involved in scholarship activities (research, manuscript prep, attend conferences), and serve on community boards.Qualifications:

    Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in History from an accredited program. Candidates must have demonstrated experience of effective teaching and research in history. Specifically, preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience in teaching core history courses, upper division history (American and Western), upper division non-western history, and lower division geography. Experience with online teaching using the Blackboard learning platform is highly desirable, as are candidates that strive to be master teachers and are committed to the mentoring of students. Commitment to the mission of an 1890 land-grant HBCU, research, and publication is highly desirable.
