Extremely busy law firm specializing in personal injury and criminal defense seeking an experienced litigation paralegal for immediate full time position.
Duties:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including discovery, trial preparation, and post-trial activities
- Conduct legal research using Lexis-Nexis and other legal databases
- Draft and prepare legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Maintain and organize case files and documents using document management systems
- Review and analyze documents for relevancy, privilege, and responsiveness
- Assist with deposition preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing witness files
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits, preparing witness binders, and coordinating with expert witnesses
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an accredited program
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a litigation paralegal
- Strong administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines
- Experience with document management systems for organizing and maintaining case files
- Familiarity with document review software and contract management platforms
- Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and court rules
- Excellent interviewing skills to gather information from clients and witnesses
- Professional phone etiquette when communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage case files, exhibits, and trial preparation materials
