High School Math Teacher for the 23-24 school year
Description HS Math Teachers are responsible for providing math instruction in the high school setting that meets state standards and provides for the IDEA requirements of students.
Essential Job Elements
1. Provide daily instruction in math education in alignment. Functions with identified teaching standards and developed curriculum maps.
2. Collect math education program data to evaluate student progress. Share data with the school team and parents.
3. Consult and collaborate with team members as a part of a PLC.
4. Collaborate with paraprofessionals to schedule services and to modify students' programs.
5. Write relevant IEP goals for students with math deficits and collect data regarding those goals.
6. Supervise, teach and monitor student teachers, peer tutors and other staff assigned to assist with programming.
7. Assure confidentiality of all student information.
8. Participate in family educational opportunities, including but not limited to Parent Empowerment Nights.
9. Adhere to and support Board policy, School guidelines, and administrative rules and directives
10. Maintain accurate case records and documentation and honor all student accommodations.
11. Maintain current knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations and abide by said laws and regulations with emphasis on persons with disabilities, c hild welfare, mental health, confidentiality, and student a nd parent rights.
12. Participates in in-service activities, PLC meetings, and staff meetings promoted by the school.
13. Maintain professional dress and attendance.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
Qualifications
1. Current Utah State Educator’s License with Math endorsement (Level 3 required; Level 4 preferred)
2. The ability to lift 40 pounds
3. Minimum 2 years of experience with autism preferred
