Asst. Professor - Mathematics teaches courses in the discipline area of mathematics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Mathematics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Mathematics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field. Converse University is seeking a pool of qualified applicants to serve as an adjunct instructor of mathematics and/or statistics on a needed basis. Courses may be face-to-face or online, depending on the department's needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach one or possibly more sections of MTH 108 Finite Mathematics, MTH 110 Elementary Functions (precalculus), and/or MTH 113 Introduction to Statistics.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 18 hours of completed graduate level mathematics coursework
- Experience in teaching mathematics or statistics at secondary or university levels
