Professor - Mathematics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Mathematics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field. Adjunct Faculty - Mathematics

  • Position Summary:

    • Engages students in the teaching/learning process; works assigned schedule; represents the College in the community; and performs other related duties as required.  Proficient in content ranging from arithmetic to Calculus, including Introductory Statistics.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
    • Plans and teaches courses that fulfill the current curriculum goals and objectives.
    • Remains current with subject matter and instructional methodology.
    • Maintains posted office hours in accordance with departmental and College policies.
    • Employs appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
    • Communicates progress in the course to students in a timely manner.  
    • Determines and submits students' grades and attendance in accordance with established College policies and procedures.
    • Supports the mission of the program, division, and College.
    • Performs duties as assigned.

    Education and/or Work Experience:
    • Master's degree in Mathematics or Statistics, or related field, with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in mathematics or statistics.
    • Minimum of two years teaching experience required, preferably at the college level.
    Other Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one, in small groups, and in classroom situations.
    • Proficient in word-processing and presentation software, internet, and e-mail.
    • Proficient with learning management systems.
    • Proficient with technology and software tools that support mathematical computations, displays, and explorations.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of students.
    • Capability to teach in more than one discipline.
    • Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
    • Effective problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work a combination of days/evening/weekend schedules
