Asst. Professor - Nursing jobs in Kingsport, TN

Responsible for directing, guiding, monitoring and evaluating the delivery of nursing care at the facility under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. Responsible for staffing, and coordination of pharmacy, laboratory, special procedures, and nutrition by direction of the Director of Nursing.  Provides coverage as a nursing supervisor or staff nurse as assigned.

Consults with the Director of Nursing, staff, physicians, and other members of clinical administration on nursing problems and interpretation of facility policies to ensure that patient’s needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department(s) and participates in hospital wide PI initiatives. Responsible for mentoring RNs and LPNs, and other clinical staff as needed. Provides coverage as a nursing supervisor of staff nurse as assigned.                

Responsible for coordination of functions related to infection control and employee health.

1. Education, Certification/Licensure, and/or Experience
2. Valid State RN license. Psychiatric Certification preferred.
3. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, possesses an Associates Degree.
4. Minimum of five years experience in psychiatric nursing. Minimum of two years of management experience.
5. Current certification in BLS/CPR
