Asst. Professor - Nursing teaches courses in the discipline area of nursing. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Nursing provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Nursing typically reports to a department head. The ideal candidate has the primary responsibility of instruction in the classroom, clinical, and lab setting while planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating Nursing curriculum.

Master's degree in Nursing required.
Hold a valid, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma.
Evidence of current practice with a minimum of two years full-time equivalent as an RN in a clinical setting preceding employment as a teacher.
Philosophy compatible with that of a comprehensive urban community college.
Prefer teaching experience at the community college or university level.
