Dietary Aides work varied hours on an as-needed basis.

Job Summary :

Dietary Aides perform all tasks needed to provide meals, nourishments, and special functions for the resident’s.

Responsibilities :

• Set-up and deliver meal trays with proper items as per resident’s diet.
• Brew coffee and place proper beverages on tray.
• Make and deliver nourishments.
• Cut up fruit if needed for dessert. Dish out desserts.
• Wrap bread for meals
• Scrape dirty meal trays, throw out the garbage, recycle cardboard in dumpster.
• Work in dish room cleaning tray items.
• Wash pots and pans with proper cleaning methods.
• Answer phone for resident’s meal requests and anything that nursing needs from the kitchen.
• Sweep and mop kitchen
• Put away deliveries
• Clean, sort, and wrap silverware for trays.
• Restock kitchen with paper goods from storage areas.
• Maintain a clean storeroom when using items. (Label and date items used.)
• Perform any other duties as necessary or assigned by a supervisor, department head, or Administrator
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to stand for long hours, & bend, reach, push, etc.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

The successful candidate will be subject to a Criminal History Record Check as per NYS DOH regulation

1199 Union position.
