Focus Physical Therapy (Outpatient Office)

$12.50 - $14.50 per hour

Part-Full time (25-35 hrs/week)

This position is located in Jacksonville, FL

Assist Physical Therapist in treating various musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, use good judgement and clinical reasoning/decision with patient support related tasks including: exercise instruction using various therapy and exercise equipment/machines, assistance with set up of hot/cold packs, modality units.

1-3 years of experience as a PHYSICAL THERAPY TECH preferred.

- PT Tech will assist working with patients to restore function, improve mobility, decrease pain and improve overall health and quality of life for patients under their care.

- Working in an Outpatient Physical Therapy office assisting Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants, treating patients with Orthopedic and Extremity diagnoses, Neurological Dysfunctions and Fall Risk patients.

- Proper application of treatment modalities including HP/CP, ESTIM, and US within the scope of care of a PT.

- Knowledgeable of proper form during exercise/stretching, staying attentive to the patient and be able to correct form using verbal cuing, tactile cuing, and demonstration.

- Communicate professionally with staff and patients.

- Maintain professional demeanor and positive attitude while dealing with patients (in person and phone conversations).

- Attend required in-service meetings held with staff.

- Demonstrate a proactive attitude toward patient compliance, assisting with patient scheduling, calling patients that cancel or no-show, and overall management of patient caseload to reduce patient attrition and increase therapy appointment attendance.

- Monitoring of patient treatment area to ensure safety of all patients during therapy appointments (keeping area clean, remove objects and equipment after patient use).

- Assist in keeping gym and treatment rooms clean after patient use (change linens, put away weights/equipment, wipe down treatment tables with disinfectant spray, etc.).

- Greeting patients at front desk area, notify therapist of patient arrival and escort to gym area or treatment room.

- Notify therapist of possible patient adverse reaction during therapy treatment or potential problem since last appointment (pain, swelling, dizziness, shortness of breath, falls, etc.).

- Make copies of patient home exercise programs utilizing computer program, pamphlets, folders, etc.

- Assist front desk coordinator with various reception area tasks including: answering phone, greeting patients, pull/file patient charts, schedule patients (always give patient an appointment card), fill out new patient information sheets.

- Adhere to all Federal, State, and company billing rules and regulations.
