    Summary :

    The Lead PTA provides day to day clinical support for physical therapy and resource aide services. The individual is responsible for the development, mentorship and execution of orientation and ongoing annual competency specific to their area of expertise. The individual assists with daily/weekly schedules and is involved in safety and educational programs. In addition, the individual collaborates with clinic leadership and providers input on workflow changes, process improvement, and in the delivery of excellent patient care. S/he is responsible for the coordination of student observation and clinical hours including PTA and job shadow students.

    He/She must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, and work to create a positive work environment. The individual must also partner with the leadership team to ensure fiscal responsibilities. The Lead is first and foremost a clinical expert in the selected area of practice. S/he must be adequately prepared by experience and training to coach, develop, educate, and mentor the care team in this specialty service, both experienced and new staff.

    They must stay up to date on regulatory requirements associated with the service, including assurance of ongoing accreditation and assistance with Electronic Health Record management. Working well with other departments is essential.

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervision and development of staff, including clerical and clinical personnel, orientation, education, competency development and assessment, assistance with interviews, coaching and discipline, evaluations, scheduling, assisting with timecards, and documentation.
    • As a clinical expert in the area of specialty, assists with coverage of the department as needed for surges or illness of others, within the scope of technician; performs skills required of the front-line staff expertly.
    • Develops, reviews, implements policies, workflows, and procedures for the department.
    • Assists with/plans performance improvement activities, including data collection, audits, research, and reporting.
    • Delegates/ assists with implementation of the budget and supply management for the department.
    • Assures the department meets regulatory and safety requirements, including maintaining readiness for surveys.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Other Information :

    • Registry, licensure, or certification as physical therapist assistant required.
    • This is a Lead position with responsibility for day-to-day operations of a clinical services. There are no direct reports in INFOR. Must meet the front-line position requirements.
    • Must meet the skills, competencies, and job requirements established for front line staff within the department(s) assigned.
