Asst. Professor - Physics teaches courses in the discipline area of physics. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Asst. Professor - Physics provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Physics typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field. Eligibility Criteria
- 1 year teaching/tutoring experience.
- Have earned a B or better in the course you wish to tutor (you will also be required to pass our proficiency exam).
- Have a 3.0 (out of 4.0) GPA in your field of study (not just your overall GPA).
- Be fluent in English and have excellent communications skills.
- Ideally be able to work at least 10 hours a week (but again, you can work with just 1 student).
- Be able to work until the end of the semester you're working (i.e. if you're helping a student during the Fall quarter, you must be available to your students until the end of finals of that quarter).
