Professor - Sociology provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Asst. Professor - Sociology typically reports to a department head. Requires a PhD or terminal degree appropriate to the field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and contributes to research In a specialized field. Summary of Position
A master’s degree in sociology. Must be able to teach a range of sociology courses, e.g., Introduction to Sociology, Minority Groups, Social Problems, Applied Sociology, and Sociological Theory.Position Information
Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday. Teaching assignments may be remote or at various locations.
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.
Ability to contribute to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the University community through teaching.

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Minimum Qualifications: At least a master’s degree in sociology. Must be able to teach standard general education courses, e.g., Introduction to Sociology, Minority Groups, Social Problems, etc. Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
