NEW FAIRFIELD BOARD OF EDUCATION

POSITION: Athletic Trainer

REPORTS TO: Athletic Director

GENERAL DUTIES: Responsible for coordinating a safe environment for athletic activities, providing injury assessment and management and emergency care at practices and games. Must collaborate with medical practitioners to coordinate treatment as well as medical protocols and procedures. In addition, the athletic trainer will work with all athletic teams during the off season on strength and conditioning, and rehabilitating athletes. Develop comprehensive venue and condition-specific emergency action plans. Maintain adequate medical records on all injuries and rehabilitation procedures. Establish and maintain a budget for athletic training supplies and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Athletic Trainer (BOC)
Master’s degree preferred
AED, CPR, First Aid and Concussion certifications
Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents and medical professionals
Understanding of all interscholastic athletic programs
