Athletic Trainer treats and prevents athletic injuries by developing therapies to reduce pain and improve mobility under the direction of a physician. Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing. Being an Athletic Trainer may require state license to practice. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in exercise science, sports science or equivalent. Additionally, Athletic Trainer typically requires certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Athletic Trainer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Improving members’ health and well-being through promoting personal training, exercise, and programs that the club offers
Maintaining a client base
Participating in fitness department programs and/or general programs of interest that the club offers
Excellent communication skills
Time management, leadership, and organizational skills
Flexibility in schedule
Entrepreneurial spirit
Working knowledge of all fitness equipment in the club
General understanding of health club operations preferred
Nationally accredited Personal Training Certification required
CPR and AED certifications must be current or obtained within 60 days of hire.
