Job Summary :

What an exciting opportunity to work with student-athletes within the school system as part of the Physical Therapy Department with Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital.

The ATC is responsible for providing outreach athletic training services for Moore County High School. Evaluate and treat athletic injuries, rehabilitate athletes, and recommend injury prevention strategies.

This includes practice and event coverage, traveling with the football and softball team as needed.

This role is responsible for administering and directing appropriate direct care services aimed at assessing and treating the athletic population.

The ATC is responsible for providing athletic training evaluations as directed by primary or team physician as outlined by Tennessee Athletic Trainer Law.

The ATC is also responsible for the development, administration, and supervision of the sports medicine program for their assigned school (s).

They evaluate athletes readiness to play and provide participation clearance when necessary and warranted. Collaborates with physician in order to develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation programs for athletic injuries.

• Ability to perform minimal computer skills pertaining to electronic medical records.
• Ability to work as a part of a team to provide athletic training services under the direction of a physician or physical therapist.
• Implement selected components of interventions.
• Obtain data of interventions provided and make modifications in selected interventions provided and make modifications in selected interventions either to progress the athlete to ensure client safety and comfort.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited athletic training program or related field of study
• Licensed Athletic Trainer in the state of Tennessee or eligible to obtain licensure prior to starting, required
• Certified Athletic Trainer through NATA-BOC, required
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule that requires traveling with the football and softball team and may include weekends, required
• CPR certification
• Previous athletic training experience at the middle and / or high school level, preferred
• Visa sponsorship is not available for this role
