Qualifications:
● At least five (5) years of successful experience as a secondary teacher, coach and/or
administrator
● Appropriate MIAA Certifications for the Athletic Director position
● Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and
acceptable.
Athletics Responsibilities:
● Organizes and administers the overall program of interscholastic sports for the
Blackstone-Millville School District.
● Recommends, assigns, supervises and evaluates Blackstone-Millville Regional athletic coaches.
● Fosters good school-community relations by keeping the community aware of and responsive to
the athletic program, which includes maximizing the BMRSD athletics app and social media.
● Maintains and assumes responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all interscholastic
athletic events.
● Organize emergency and gametime personnel as required, and assumes general responsibility
for the proper supervision of home games.
● Coordinates transportation for athletic practices (when necessary) and all contests.
● Maintains MIAA league and school rules regulating the conduct of school activities
● Attends all MIAA, DVC and State Meetings
● Maintains the physical and academic requirements of eligibility for participation in each sport,
and verifies each athlete’s eligibility.
● Prepares, presents, and implements the district’s athletic budget which includes facilitating and
the purchasing of supplies, uniforms, and equipment for athletic programs; supervises the
storage, and care of all athletic equipment.
● Keeps a thorough and organized record and inventory of all athletic uniforms and equipment.
● Collects athletic fees and gate receipts. Serves as the point of contact for FamilyID and Unibank
Management.
● Supervises all ticket sales and fund-raising events connected with the athletic program, and
assumes responsibility for proper handling and accounting of monies involved.
● Open and ongoing communication with the Athletic Boosters.
● Collaborates with Facilities Director, Custodians, Parks and Recreation, and Principals to
coordinate building and field use/prep.
● Coordinate the end-of-season awards/certificates
● Foster student engagement with MIAA offerings & workshops
● Ensure eligibility for Division I, II or III collegiate level participation
Student Life Responsibilities:
● Establish Intramurals athletics (after school, evenings, summer vacation)
● Work to increase student participation in extracurricular activities
● Connect with community partners (Boys and Girls Club & Libraries)
● Maintain master calendar for all student events/activities
● Assist and support BMRHS guidance office with soliciting programming/internships as needed
● Performs other duties as assigned.
*Twelve (12) month non-union position.
