Oversee facility operations in Athletics, including Football, Joyce Center, Olympic Quad, Boathouse, Golf Facilities and Community Facilities. Supervise assigned Facility Managers in the operations of athletic facilities. Ensure deferred maintenance plan is implemented, and routine maintenance issues are addressed in a timely manner. Develop and manage a comprehensive renewal plan for all facilities. Partner with Campus Services to ensure both Athletic Grounds, Housekeeping, Security and set-up needs are fully communicated, scheduled and completed, complying with agreed upon performance standards. Fully engage risk management to ensure that ND offers safe and secure practice and competition venues. Oversee and strategically manage facility budgets. Engage with Master Planning, projects/renovations and new construction as assigned. Routinely attend athletic sports events and ensure operating smoothly. May take the lead role in game/event management of one or two assigned sporting events.
Essential Duties:
- Oversee all assigned facility operations in Athletics, to include Football, Joyce Center, Olympic Quad, Boathouse, Golf Facilities and Community Facilities. Liaison with Risk Management for regular facility reviews and to address safety issues as they arise. Future focus will also include a comprehensive access and security review of all competition and practice venues. Routinely attend athletic sporting events to ensure smooth operations.
- Manage renovation, renewal projects, and repair and maintenance for all assigned facilities. Work with Facility Managers, athletics leadership and FDO to develop a ten year plan to actively manage the Athletics Renewal budget. In addition, ensure a deferred maintenance plan is implemented, and routine maintenance issues are addressed, in a timely manner. Engage with Master planning and new construction as assigned. Engage with branding master planning as assigned.
- Build and maintain budgets for efficient operation of said facilities.
- Liaison with Campus Services, to ensure both Athletic Grounds, Housekeeping and set-up needs are fully communicated, scheduled and completed.
- Coordinate with Program Director of Operations scheduling of athletic facilities for internal users, balancing access, equity and competitive needs. Allocate available space, including office space, in an effort to support departmental priorities.
- Direct and coordinate all event management for select Sports, to include, but not limited to, communication, accommodations, scheduling, employment of game day staff (officials, announcers, etc.), promotions, media relations, security, risk management, grounds, concessions, etc. In addition, work with Head and Assistant Coaches both internally as well as those from visiting institutions, to deliver a first class experience to all participants and fans.
- Refine metrics, targets, analytics and data collection mechanisms for athletic facility and event usage, with focus on improving operations and enhancing customer experience.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of NCAA and ACC/Big Ten/Conference Rules and Regulations
- Facility and Project Management background
- Understanding of game management and managing large scale events
Preferred Qualifications:
- BA, Masters Preferred
- 5-6 years experience
