Audio-Technica U.S., Inc. has an excellent career opportunity for the position of Supply Chain Specialist. The Supply Chain Specialist reports to the Executive Director of Supply Chain in Stow, Ohio and manages inventory and places purchase orders for stock items from international and domestic suppliers, while controlling expenses related to the cost of carrying inventory and maximizing inventory turns.
The Supply Chain Specialist also supports Customer Success Center with sales order entry and customer experience responsibilities. Coordinates purchasing and customer order management activities with Sales. Performs inventory analysis. Uses on-hand quantities, open orders, and demand to predict inventory and order levels with the objective of meeting or exceeding the company’s MOH target. Maintain PSI (Procurement, Sales, and Inventory) report for order analysis. Manages backorders, minimize use of airfreight, and actively participate in supply chain improvement processes.
Responsibilities
- Order entry for four sales divisions – eCommerce, Brick & Mortar, System Solutions, and Broadcast.
- Responsible for designated Rep territories within the United States. Must work in conjunction with the assigned Territory Manager.
- Facilitates purchase order and inventory management activities with AT-America’s Canada and Latin America sales segments.
- Provide supply chain support of OEM customer.
- Responsible for export order management for Audio-Technica global companies in Europe, China, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan. Includes necessary documents and follow up.
- Uses MRP methods for review of sales and inventory activity for all assigned items. Applies the results for placement of purchase orders. Updates standard MRP information as necessary.
- Balances sufficient inventory levels against open-to-buy plan and associated inventory costs: ordering costs, transportation costs, and warehousing expenses.
- Reviews pre-shipping advice from parent company and other suppliers. Determines whether to bring in product by Air or Sea shipment.
- Review product NPN to determine inventory requirements and offsets with lead-time when placing orders to ensure product arrives on time for scheduled launch.
- Reviews backorder list to determine product availability. Provides proactive feedback to the Sales organization and adjusts schedules as necessary.
- Collaborates with other departments to define and implement best practices regarding supply chain management.
- Effectively communicate with applicable business functions concerning inventory management.
- Communicates directly with international headquarters in Japan and other suppliers regarding purchase orders, stock availability, pricing, invoicing, shipping schedules, shipping method, past due items, quality issues, and other matters as necessary.
- Serving as connection between finance and operations to put inventory in transit, approve invoices, and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor and maintain departure and arrival dates within the ERP system.
- Works closely with freight forwarders to coordinate and approve cargo transportation modes, container sizes, and schedules.
- Maintain material masters, purchasing info records, and source list for all items assigned. Update ABC classifications as needed.
- Identify and report obsolete, surplus, or excess inventory and assist with disposition.
- Compile, maintain, and evaluate queries and reports to support inventory control analysis and reporting.
- Provide leadership and participate in S&OP meetings to develop up-to-date consensus forecast for utilization in determining purchase order quantities and inventory levels to support fiscal budget projections.
- Provide flex capacity to support all supply chain team functions. Including forecasting, purchasing, order entry, sales order management, inventory management, logistics, and sales & operations planning.
- Meet department and individual measurable goals and objectives.

Position Requirements
- Supply Chain related degree is preferred.
- Minimum 2-5 years’ work experience in purchasing, inventory control, demand planning, logistics, customer service, or related field will be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Previous SAP or Microsoft Dynamics ERP experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of supply chain metrics, including usage reporting, turns per period, valuation techniques, etc.
- Ability to communicate fluently in Japanese or Spanish a plus.
- Membership or certification from Association of Supply Chain Management (ASCM) a plus.
- Proficient with Excel and understanding of database query/reporting.
- Experience with Power BI or Power Query a plus.
- Possesses strong analytical skills and the ability to expand capabilities in accordance with business changes.
- Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, multi-task and prioritize competing demands.
