Audio Visual Technician responsibilities include installing, configuring, operating, disassembling, and troubleshooting audio visual equipment. Performs production editing, routine maintenance, and inventory tracking. Being an Audio Visual Technician coordinates with clients on placement, integration, and ensures functionality of projectors, lighting, microphones, sound mixing, recording and video-conferencing equipment for live events and meetings. Responds to and resolves routine questions and technical issues. Additionally, Audio Visual Technician may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Audio Visual Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     This position is responsible for creating an excellent experience for anyone using UCM facilities by overseeing all responsibilities for Audio-visual equipment as well as assisting Meeting and Conference Services staff with any tasks related to hosting events on campus.

    Primary responsibilities include
    • Setup, operation, and takedown of Audio-Visual equipment on campus
    • Organization, maintenance, installation, and minor repair of equipment
    • Customer service, unlocking doors, assisting Campus Event Managers
    • Written shift reports In your Cover Letter please provide examples of the following:
    • Experience operating an audio console to mix 2 or more microphones
    • Experience assisting with the equipment in a typical classroom on campus
    • Any additional audio-visual related experience not otherwise mentioned in your application

    Preference is given to students who are Music Technology, Digital Media Productions, or Theater Technology majors having completed the Sound Reinforcement course.
    Work Study preferred but not required WEEKENDS AND SUMMER REQUIRED

    80% of shifts are scheduled with 2 weeks or more notice
    20% of shifts are scheduled with 0-14 days notice.
