Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this classification exists is to set up, test, operate, assess, and repair equipment required for live events, such as music concerts, sporting events, virtual classrooms, video conferences and entertainment shows. The incumbent within this classification will perform technical and manual work in the installation, operation, maintenance and storage of stage and other equipment for a variety of special events and venues. The primary work responsibilities include: designing, constructing, installing and breaking down audio, visual and equipment for special events; installing, operating, troubleshooting and repairing specialized audio, visual, lighting and related equipment; maintaining, receiving, issuing, transporting and inventorying equipment and supplies; and advising, educating and consulting with clients on staging operations. Work is performed under the supervision of the District Parks Maintenance Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Theater Technology, Electronics or a related field; two (2) years of experience in the design and installation of sound systems, stage lighting, and related technical systems used in a large public assembly facility. NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Special Requirements
Must be able to work odd hours, nights, weekends and holidays.� Must be physically able to climb, stoop and bend in order to setup equipment and install lighting instruments. Must have and maintain a valid Alabama Driver’s License.
