Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     The Audiologist will provide comprehensive audiological evaluations, perform specialized tests, and create treatment plans for patients while taking full responsibility for the complete patient journey.



    Responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate hearing function and determine the extent of hearing loss.
    • Develop customized hearing care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs, lifestyle, and preferences.
    • Dispense and fit hearing aids, including both custom-fit and ready-to-wear models, ensuring optimal comfort and functionality.
    • Provide ongoing support and counseling to patients on hearing aid use, maintenance, and adjustment.
    • Specialize in the fitting and management of Lyric hearing aids, offering patients innovative solutions for discreet and hassle-free hearing.


    Requirements

    • Master's or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited institution.
    • Valid state licensure as an Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist (or eligibility for licensure in Massachusetts).
    • Prior experience working in a busy audiology practice or similar clinical setting is preferred.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish rapport with patients of all ages.
    • Detail-oriented approach with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
    • Commitment to upholding ethical standards and confidentiality in patient care.
