Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.   • Universal Audiology is seeking a Part or Full-Time Audiologist for their location in Orchard Park, NY area. We are a privately-owned, family practice, committed to providing outstanding hearing healthcare services in the Olean, Dunkirk, Orchard Park and Jamestown, NY areas. We have always been deeply rooted in our community since being founded three generations ago.

    Responsibilities:

    • Establish rapport and gather history from patients, conduct audiometric testing, and make recommendations for hearing aids.
    • Fit hearing aids and assist with any adjustments, questions, or problems.
    • Dispense accessories including batteries, special products, ALD’S, or any other product available through practice.
    • Report patient test results to originating referral source or appropriate staff member for tracking and documentation.
    • Support clinic operations by conducting quality control analysis of incoming hearing aids and maintenance of test areas, equipment, and supplies.

    Characteristics and Skills/Abilities:

    • Demonstrated proficiency in hearing aid dispensing to include programmable hearing aids of major manufacturers.
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of patients.
    • Must be able and willing to generate referrals from patients and physicians.
    • Excellent patient care and follow-up.
    • Self-motivated and a team player.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a wide range of patients, colleagues, and vendors
    • Must be proficient with PCs and conventional software packages as well as programming software.
    • Reasonable problem-solving skills
    • Good time-management skills

    Desired:

    • Au.D or Master’s Degree in Audiology
    • Audiology/Hearing Aid Dispensing Licensure or eligible to obtain.
