Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Audiologist to join our team. As an Audiologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with hearing and balance disorders. Your expertise will help improve the quality of life for individuals experiencing hearing loss.

    Position: Audiologist

    Location: Mattoon, IL

    Facility: Hospital

    Duration: 13 Weeks Contract

    Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

    Duties:

    • Maintains and consistently demonstrates competency in all areas of assigned client care needs and seeks out additional information, in services or educational opportunities to remain competent and current.
    • Effectively coordinates schedule and assignments in order to assure maximum productivity, efficiency, and meet deadlines and commitment to customers including patients, other physical medicine staff members and other members of the health care team.
    • Administers and evaluates videonystagmography tests
    • Performs electroacoustic analysis of hearing aids for documentation of function and troubleshooting. Performs real ear analysis/speech mapping for optimal tuning and adjusting of hearing aids
    • Conducts all components of complete audiometric hearing test battery as needed for differential diagnosis of hearing loss or other specific test objectives for pediatric through geriatric life stages
    • Provides counseling to patients and families which may concern the current function of the hearing mechanism, the nature of the hearing loss, the use of the hearing aids or the handicapping effects of hearing loss
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

    Requirements:
    - Master's or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program
    - Valid state license for Illinois as an Audiologist
    - Current certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
    - Prior experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required

    - 2 years of experience - Required

    Job Types: Full-time, Contract

    Pay: $65.00 - $75.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week
